I’m not a racist principal

Every week we’re hearing more stories from the mouths of people who hate Black people for whatever reason they believed to be justified. That’s just like with the SAE debacle; I was more surprised people were acting surprised that there are white people who say “nigger/a.” Let’s not.

TNT Academy founder and principal, Nancy Gordeuk, added herself to the list. Was I surprised? No? What did homegirl do? She “forgot” to let the valedictorian—a student who happens to be Black (#WHTBB)— present their speech and closes out the ceremony.  Like how do you forget that speech, it’s at the top of the program? After guests start to leave (remember she dismissed them), she aggressively demands that they come back to hear the speech that she forgot to include in the program in the first place— the valedictorian speech.

Then to add to the drama, she gets to the microphone and says:

“Look who’s leaving. All the black people!”

You’re damn skippy we’re leaving. That’s what we do, we show up late and leave early because the way our CPT is set up we don’t have the time!

Her apology was whack as fuck. The high school is not predominantly black. I bet Black people were not the only ones leaving; the Lollipop Guild left after they found she forgot the damn lollipops. This is an educator who might of had a menopausal breakdown during a commencement ceremony, lashed out at the graduates and audience, called them “goobers”, then requested the doors be closed to prevent anyone from leaving. So basically the ceremony turned into a hostage situation. I.CAN.NOT.

So Principal Gordeuk, were you sure just Black people were leaving?

“When I looked left, K, the light as you know, lights in the auditorium, you look left, all I saw were black people getting up and leaving.” (actual statement)

Wait wait wait a minute. Do white people have this “Twilight” vampire skin thing that makes them translucent that she didn’t see them? Or were the Black people just that black? LOL! This is what I find offensive.

But that written apology tho’:

“A terrible mistake on my part was part of the graduation ceremony on Friday night. The devil was in the house and came out from my mouth. I deeply apologize for my racist comment and hope that forgiveness in in your hearts. We all make mistakes and anyone who knows me realizes that I try my hardest to work with the students for them to obtain their goal of a high school diploma.”

Skuuuuuuurrrr, pump the brakes. She lost me at “devil.” What the hell was the devil doing there and who was he there to see? If the devil WAS there, was his child the valedictorian? You can read the full apology here or maybe the devil won’t allow you to finish it. A name like TNT, shit was bound to blow the fuck up.

I’m not a racist police officer

Text messages released in a news story on corrupt San Francisco police officers revealed the officers to be racists. What did the texts say? Oh you know the norm:

  • Black people are savages
  • Black women should be “spayed”
  • Burning crosses during Kwanza

“If I offended anybody I’m sorry. Truly, truly sorry. However, it’s banter amongst friends.” (actual statement). What is this, Words with Friends? Texting your friend the eggplant emoji in cuffing season is banter. Plus to add to the fuckery he uses the “I have black friends” line. Yea because we never talk behind our friends’ backs. That neeeeveeeeerrr happens. We get it, blame black people whenever, forever.
